Stoyan Barakov (he/him) is a Bulgarian-Canadian contemporary artist and arts administrator living in Toronto, Canada. He holds a BFA from the OCAD University with a major in Sculpture and Installation and is currently completing his Master’s degree in Digital Media at Ryerson University. His work engages nostalgia and memory as they are displaced within the contexts and methodologies of the West. Previously, he held the position of Gallery Director for Quebec-based Beauchamp Art Gallery at their location in Toronto’s Historic Distillery District. Co-founder of the art group Collective Memory, he creates meaningful and interactive artworks in the public realm.
